Our Big Idea.
What Mind & Make Believes in.
Our kits are more than just an activity.
Kids are naturally curious about the world around them. They want to know what adults do, how things work, what they could make, what they could become.
Â
Mind & Make created something that gives that curiosity somewhere to go. Each kit takes children inside a different career through hands-on projects, creative challenges, and activities designed to let them try, imagine, and create.
Learning about a job is one thing. Getting to experience it is something else.
The way kids learn matters.
Children don't only learn by reading information. They learn through doing, asking questions, creating, practicing, talking, and making connections.
Â
A child might read about what a photographer does, then pick up a camera and experiment with perspective.

They might learn about being a chef, then plan a meal.

They might explore what an author does, then create a story of their own.

The goal isn't just to teach children about careers. It's to give them opportunities to practice the skills that help them explore the world with confidence, creativity, communication, problem-solving, planning, curiosity, and more.

Mind & Make's Purpose
Hi, I'm Tressa, the founder of Mind & Make and a parent who believes children deserve opportunities to explore what they're capable of.
Â
I've always been interested in understanding how people think, learn, grow, and develop. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, with a minor in Law, Criminal Justice, and Society, and I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

My background has given me a particular interest in child development, behavior, emotions, confidence, and the experiences that shape how children see themselves and the world around them.

The inspiration behind Mind & Make came from my own daughter. Watching her discover interests, pursue the things that excite her, and grow more confident through those experiences has been incredibly meaningful.Â

Watching my daughter through these experiences led me to a bigger question:

Â
Â
That question became the foundation for Mind & Make and its mission to help children explore what they're capable of, one interest at a time.

Not just by telling them about different careers, but by letting them explore them.

Mind & Make was created to give children those opportunities through hands-on experiences that encourage them to:
Â
Explore different careers and possibilities.

Create something with their own hands.

Discover skills, interests, and strengths along the way.

Children don't need to know exactly what they want to be when they grow up, they just need opportunities to find out what they love.
What if more children had opportunities to explore their interests, discover new passions, and develop confidence in their own abilities?
